Anjou Zerzilles 2020
One of the most aromatically intense of our wines, it presents itself confidently when tasted. We hope that the sisters of L'abbaye de Ronceray, represented on the bottle and former owners of the plot, would have appreciated it!
Grape variety
Terroir
Location: Hameau de Chaume (grapes are produced in the Chaume and Quarts-de-Chaume appellation areas)
Soil: Schist, sandstone and pudding clay
Winemaking
Slow pressing and light settling.
Fermentation (using indigenous yeasts) and ageing are carried out in barrels. This assertive choice suits already massive juices from a rich terroir.
Tasting notes
This wine has plenty of character! Its aromatic palette is unique and particularly rich, just like its terroir. Notes of blood orange are present, complemented by secondary aromas of green curry. Voluminous, it also becomes sharper on the finish.
Zerzilles” can be paired with bold, powerful flavors, such as lobster roasted with spices (turmeric, mace, coriander, cumin…). It’s also a white meat lover, and might be suggested with poultry with morel mushrooms.
Our advice
We recommend a serving temperature of between 12°C and 14°C. It can be enjoyed now, or over the next ten years.
